Shipping Clerk

The Hirschvogel Automotive Group is among the most successful manufacturers of forged steel and aluminum parts. More than 6,000 employees worldwide produce forged parts and components for the automotive industry and its system suppliers. At our plant in Columbus, Ohio/USA more than 300 employees manufacture automotive parts in large-series production by means of forging and machining.



Specific Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading of trucks & ocean containers
  • Collect samples of incoming material, fill out sample sheet, log, send email and turn into Lab
  • Auditing & Delivering of FedEx/UPS Freight & Packages
  • Prepare Shipments 1hr in advance of window (dock) time.
  • Ensure trucks are unloaded and/or loaded on time & document/communicate any delays
  • Audit Shipments before & after loading
  • Audit all inbound material before unloading to ensure no damage and BOL Corresponds with the load.
  • Check Drivers In/Out and assign Dock (Bays) with wheel chocks
  • Label Shipments according to weigh slip, route card and heat code, initial each label
  • Keep accurate record of shipments
  • Sign drivers in and out by initialing the BOL with your name, date and time
  • Packaging of products to be shipped
  • Bending and lifting of approximately 20-70lbs.
  • Responsible for entering information for tally sheets and bar codes
  • Responsible for tagging shipments accurately



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Operation of weighing and postage machines
  • Use of a desktop computer
  • Scanner
  • Forklift Operation



Must have          Must have previous experience driving a forklift

2 y                      2 years previous experience shipping in a manufacturing environment preferred
