About the Role

We are currently looking for a Billet Prep Supervisor to direct and train labor force to meet production requirements by creating clear lines of communication while enforcing job instructions, safety requirements, quality requirements and adherence to company policy.

 

Responsibilities

  • Optimizing and improving production processes in terms of productivity, efficiency, quality, equipment availability and cost control
  • Managing, developing, and training operator and in the responsible department
  • Ensure process flow is adhere to the production sequence
  • Responsible for proper dispositioning of non-conformant products as per guideline from ME and lead supervisor
  • Ensure staff are following standard operating procedures and are receiving appropriate training (enforce SOP)
  • Execute production schedules to full extent and adapt in case of business exigency with coordination of shift supervisor from other areas.
  • Be an active part of hiring and interviewing process as instructed by Lead Supervisor
  • Ensure documents required to do the job are available
  • Create training documents in company specified method.
  • Manage mechanical devices considering safety instructions, and initiate maintenance and repair activities
  • Ensuring clean and ergonomic workplaces in the responsible department
  • Implement good company/employee relations, including cooperation and teamwork
  • Has limited disciplinary power (disciplinary action must be coordinated with management, i.e. HR, Lead Supervisor, and Operations Manager)
  • Provide regular and annual reviews to operators
  • Assisting maintenance during major breakdowns
  • Ensuring unambiguous and effective internal and external communication
  • Perform all duties deemed necessary by superior
  • Adherence to 5S principles
  • Own the responsibility of cleaning and safety guidelines as instructed by the manager/supervisor.
  • Comply with all additional directives from the management team.

 

Location & Commitments

  • Monday – Friday, Onsite Columbus OH
  • Permanent, Full Time, Third Shift 11:00 pm – 7:15 am (40 hour)
  • Overtime, Alternate shifts, and Weekends may be necessary for business needs.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 5 years of operator experience in Billet Prep area
  • 3 years of supervisor experience in manufacturing environment
  • Degree/certification in mechanical or industrial discipline preferred
  • Expertise in leadership, communication, team building, blue prints, measuring devices and extensive technol knowledge
