Maintenance Tech MMB 3rd shift

Location:  Columbus, US

The Hirschvogel Automotive Group is among the most successful manufacturers of forged steel and aluminum parts. More than 6,000 employees worldwide produce forged parts and components for the automotive industry and its system suppliers. At our plant in Columbus, Ohio/USA more than 300 employees manufacture automotive parts in large-series production by means of forging and machining.



4.1)   General responsibilities

  • Adherence to federal and local law regulations, internal policies and other applicable rules including ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 requirements
  • Continuous improvement of work and activities

4.2)   Specific responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis and maintenance of: PLC’s, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, general equipment both facility and process, installation of machinery, equipment and auxiliaries.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and repairs including calibration of equipment and machinery in order to meet production requirements.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic / pneumatic systems, motor controls (from schematics) electrical motor controls and relay logic.
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of equipment and facility operations.
  • Must follow all safety rules and report any safety issues to direct supervisor
  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping, safe workplace, cleaning up after repairs, keeping all work areas neat and clean.
  • Identifies and procures components as needed to maintain production and facility.


5.)      Job profile:

    1. Education/training/certification:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Degree or Certification preferred


5.2)     Experience:

  • 3-5 years previous maintenance experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • 3-5 years experience in  hydraulics, mechanical and or electrical trade, preferred
  • 3-5 years forklift driving experience


5.3)     Technical knowledge:

  • MS Office experience helpful
  • PLC experience preferred



5.4)    Equipment/clothing used to perform the job:            

  • Personal protective equipment in applicable areas (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes)


    1. Authorizations:
  • Stopping the production process in case of safety issue or in case of inadequate quality of produced components.
