About the Role
We are currently looking for a Machinist accountable for producing dies, punches, and other tooling for press room production.
Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate represents the company in a professional manner and demonstrates openness to accept change and innovative ideas while cooperating with others in a spirit of mutual respect and responsibility for the duties assigned to them.
- Operating Lathes, Grinders, Drill Press Mills, Electrical Discharge Machine, and Mazak Turning Center
- Responsible for operating lathes to turn die cases, inserts, punches, etc. to print sizes.
- Operating the Mazak Turning center for rough turn die cases and punches.
- Operation of grinders including grinding die case inside and outside diameter of inserts for interference fit and surface grind spacers, and shear blades to proper size.
- Operation of mills, drill and tap shear blades and other parts.
- Operation of Drill Press drilling tap size holes and taps threads in die cases.
- Operation of Electrical Discharge Machine (E.D.M.) burn in heat stamp notches and burn out broken punches.
- Polishing die inserts to a smooth finish.
- Making heat stamps.
Location & Commitments
- Monday – Friday, Onsite Columbus OH
- Permanent, Full Time, 1st shift 7:am 3:15 pm (40 hour)
- Overtime, Alternate shifts, and Weekends may be necessary for business needs
Candidate Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Trade school degree/certificate/experience in Machining and/or Tool & Die Making
- 2-5 years of work experience preferred.
- Expertise in forklift, Mazak CNC Lathe, Boehringer Lathe, I.D. and O.D., Surface Grinder, Clausing Lathe, Knee Mill
