Financial Controller

Location: Columbus, US

The Hirschvogel Group is among the most successful manufacturers of forged steel and aluminum parts. More than 6,000 employees worldwide produce forged parts and components for the automotive industry and its system suppliers. At our plant in Columbus, Ohio/USA more than 300 employees manufacture automotive parts in large-series production by means of forging and machining.

Functions:

This position reports directly to the CFO and involves work in financial planning, reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will be a finance graduate, with advanced MS Excel, Power BI and SAP knowledge and previous experience in similar role in the manufacturing industry. The applicant will demonstrate strong organization, communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, ability to challenge the status quo, eagerness to learn, and a team player attitude.

General responsibilities

Adherence to federal and local law regulations, internal policies and other applicable rules including IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements
Continuous improvement of work and activities

Represent the company in professional and respectful manner
Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information
Project management (internal and international)

Specific responsibilities:

Research, compiliation and analysis of financial data from multiple sources to support decisions making
Responsible for budgeting and forecasting of profit and loss, balance sheet statements, cash flow
Monthly reporting on plant performance against budgets, forecasts and previous year
Responsible for cost center accounting
Results analysis utilizing Profit Center und Contribution Margin report
Inventory valuation according to IFRS and U.S. GAAP
Cost center planning and development of machine hourly rates
Develops and prepares investment planning
Support training process in scope of controlling relevant topics

Education/training/certification:

Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent

Experience:

Several years’ experience in a comparable position in the manufacturing industry

Technical knowledge:

• Advanced Microsoft Office, Excel, Power BI and SAP

• Project Management Skills

• Exceptional analytic and conceptual skills

• Familiarity with IFRS/U.S. GAAP

• Experience with implementation of Controlling instruments

• Experience in reporting

• Experience in SAP controlling and cost accounting
