About the Role

We are currently looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to analyze and improve production flow using Operation excellence (OpEx) systems, Coordinate work in cross-functional teams to fulfill agreed upon improvement projects or work individually per the improvement definition. Build reports to have better clarity for decision making. Under the direction of the HPP Manager and Plant Manager, this job is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the OpEx Principles, including management of the programs and systems.

  • Support in Implementing lean practices on shopfloor for achieving the ideal Hirschvogel plant through waste reduction
  • Create Power BI reports to illustrate process and system performance
  • Analyzing business operations and suggesting improvements using Value stream mapping
  • Assisting in various Lean tools like Shop Floor Management (SFM), Idea Management(I-Box), 5S Principles, Standardized work
  • Providing trainings to staff and Leadership team on internal operational excellence systems
  • Understand and perform work in other departments in order to analyze work patterns for systemic improvements per internal operational excellence standards
  • Documenting project status using Hirschvogel standards
  • Performing all duties deemed necessary by superior
  • Lead/Assist Cost reduction projects by using Lean tools
  • Assisting in operational improvements projects/workshops to achieve OpEx KPI’s

 

Location & Commitments

  • Monday – Friday, Onsite Columbus OH
  • Permanent, Full Time, Day Shift (40 hours minimum)
  • Overtime, Alternate shifts, and Weekends may be necessary for business needs.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineer comparable
  • Education in lean manufacturing, discrete simulation, and database preferred
  • 0-2 years of work experience preferred.
  • Expertise in Industrial Engineering skills such as Value Stream Mapping,5S Methodology, Kaizen, Group Technology, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping and Statistical Control Charts, DFMEA
  • Prior experience in lean implementation preferred
  • Background in production scheduling preferred
  • Discrete event simulation tool is Preferred
  • Knowledge in Power BI is preferred
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred
  • Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
